Question The best way to make an online gallery site. . .Help

Hi there~ I am so very new to web design as it is now. An I was wondering what would be the best way for a novice to make an on-line gallery - where users can post their art and people can comment on it? Is their an editor to help accomplish this? I have started with phpbb forum software, but I do not know if this is the most efficient solution. I want to be able to concentrate on the content more then the programming , because well I do not know php or phpbb. Any help would really be appreciated big time. Thanks guys in advance.

Yes it is true~

I think phpBB is a good start and if you add Smartors portal and Smartors Album to it, you have what you want.
It is not that difficult as you follow the instructions carefully.

Even if you don't know anything abou php, you can have your forum up and running in a couple of days. It is a lot of copying and pasting and not a lot of fun to do but with Smartors Album you have what you want.

You don't have to learn phpbb to get a good result.

Good luck!

Gallerymaker...

Gallerymaker is some easy to use tool to make galleries, if you are a complete newb.

The free version has the lack it has some ads in there, but you have a look at it and then might buy it for use

If you are ready to start with AJAX you gotta see Spry in action, really simple, and great effects:

Code:
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/
I would tell you more about it, if you really are interested...

The easiest solutions that doesn't require you to type any line of code are solutions like Picasse + Picassaweb. Even my grandpa who is barely confidential with mouse movements uses that very easily. In one hand you manage your photo galleries in local and when ready you just tell to Picasa to upload the pictures in your webspace (picasaweb.google.com) where ppl would see and comment them.
There are other solutions as well (scripts, photogallerie makers etc etc) but any of these depends either in your skills or hosting package. phpBB is a good solution but for what you need is like setting up a nuclear plant to feed electricity to 1 appartment.

Adobe LIGHTROOM - I use it to develop and export them as sideshow or web gallery. Inside this application you do everything.
