From some time I'm starting to be a little annoying about philosophy of After Effects - (I very like AE's "layers" approach to compositing, but I miss "tree" compositing feature known from apps like shake).
To avoid making dozens of precompositions and duplicated layers I start to search some compositing plugins (for tasks like color correction of selective color, multiple mask and alpha operations, easy substracting/add mask from alpha, etc.). Of course this is all possible within AE, by making precomps and duplicating layers, but I search some simpler way, because I'm belive that its exists.
So what is the best plugin for typical compositing/finishing tasks in your opinion?
nice finishing tool. I"ll check it.
by the way on the web of developers of Magic Bullet I found here someting that look very promising for my needs: Key Correct Pro.
thanks

Post and Finishing.
Hello fellow menbers,
It all depends on the type of projects and final deliver, there is a huge selection of plugins designed to add special effects and color color correction, one of them: Magic Bullet Suite, along with trapcode plugins and Genarts Sapphire. Also you can try Digital Film Tools 6 for AE, Cine Look and Cine Motion, Boris FX, Canoa 3D, first look for different options depending of the final look and deliver plan that you have for your project. Do you want the 24p Film Motion? Magic Bullet Suite is the key.

Right. I have mostly compositing tasks in mind, like removing some objects from footage (some unwanted people or props), replacing skies, banners, names on packshots, etc.
Film look is not at this time subject of my interests.
But thanks I'll take a closer look to this plugs.

Hello Again...
Hey if you want to work selecting certain areas or objects of your video and replace them I recomend BORIS CONTINUUM COMPLETE V4.0, very easy to use, also explore the vector paint tool in Adobe After Effects has many uses but most people don't think of it as a rotoscoping tool. Here a simple but cool tutorial with vector paint isolating one element of the footage.
Aside from Magic bullet, they have "Colorista" which is a 3 way color corrector (AE does not have one directly, although if you open a Premiere pro project in AE that uses Premeires 3 way corrector it shows up), anyway, one of the makers of Magic Bullet has a book out called "The DV Rebels Guide" it has some color correction scripts that work great.
