here is my solutions:
1- uncheck "use service" in "config service" tab
2- use "start service" in "start/stop/reread" tab instead (this required activate flexlm maually, not convenience; hope some will find solution)
3- start viz, when ask for license, type 2080@hostname.
I start viz successfully by this way, but viz windows shows unregistered version, while the "license behaviour" shows "permanent"?????

Here's how I managed to install and run it:

Follow steps 1 and 2 in info.txt, create directory C:\FlexLM and copy all the files from crack/FlexLM, then start lmtools.exe (c:\FlexLM\lmtools.exe), "Service/License file" tab - choose "Configuration using Services", "System Settings" tab - you will need "Computer/Hostname" later, so remember it, "Config Services" tab - set path to lmgrd.exe C:\FLEXLM\lmgrd.exe, set path to license C:\FLEXLM\license.lic, then create any log file in C:\FLEXLM, I created viz2007.log and set path to it C:\FLEXLM\viz2007.log, check "Use Services" and "Start Server...", "Start/Stop/Reread" tab - press "start Server" button, finally start Viz 2007, choose "Specify the License Server System", then enter "2080@"Computer/Hostname" and it should work, I had a problem with my firewall(Norton), so you must allow "lmtools.exe" to acces to the internet, then there's shouldn't be any problem.

Isn't that gonna screw our other Autodesk applications up?
We need the expertise of some old fox here, not David Copperfield's!

Viz 2007 is a Max 8 for the poors!

Viz is indeed a stripped down version of max. The major features missing in viz are:

Particles and Space warps
Video Post
Sub object animation
Hair and Fur
Cloth
Pelt Mapping
Reactor
Character Studio
Bones
Skin Modifier
HI IK Solver
and many more......

Here's how I tried to install and failed:

When they say "2080@"Computer/Hostname" in my case am I supposed to write "2080@aol.com"or am I wrong?

Exactly the same problem I am having with the inventor pro 11 ( ZWTiSO ).

Had to combine oddity crack with zwitso to find out which serial first has to be given to even start .

Can´t get the thing to start , license fails .

Did install it from the CD startup , should this maybe also be started using the msi in the inventor folder ?

Any help here would as well be appreciated , am trying to install this app for a collegue ( don´t use these apps myself , only video editing apps ) and is damn waisting some good video editing time .

Since this is exaclty same prob as the VIZ here described , wonder what is not explained and why

omoxx,

did you get it working?

usually when they say "2080@"Computer/Hostname""; i find they are talking about your computer name.
