Hi kidlizard =)
I recommend "mounting" an image before burning it, to make sure it actually works.
Personally I prefer Alcohol 120% for mounting image-files like .iso, .img etc.
But there is also Daemon Tools:
Code:
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php
which also gives you a "virtual" dvd-drive which works exactly
like a regular dvd-drive but with the benefit of letting you
view, extract and/or install programs, movies etc. without
having to burn them on a cd/dvd first.
When installing apps that create virtual drives like Alcohol 120%
and Daemon Tools you must be careful to reboot your machine
after installing them, because they include functions that make
Windows think they are hardware drives.
Reboot is necessary to avoid messing up Windows.
After reboot you'll be asked if you want to use a virtual drive
or you will see a new drive in your drive list.
Hope this helps :)
