Question

Question about the portable version...
Is it normal that the portable version of photoshop cs3 is much slower than a real installed full version (both directly on harddisc) ?

I didn't know about this portable version, but i guess it lacks of filters or importancion plugins, by the way i didn't realize that we can import 3d objects

About the speed,it can be caused by the registration process of some components (I GUESS... )

So is worthy to keep it in mind... (already downloading for a test)

Hello Again

I found this seeking an answer

Quote:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Lite Edition (No Activation) This is a rip of Photoshop CS3 Extended and includes all Plugin-Ins and Presets. Stuff that was ripped from Photoshop include: Help, Samples, Fonts, and Activation files. This is a WinRAR SFX that will unpack to %ProgramFiles%Adobe and about 71MB (binary files are packed with UPX LZMA). It will run a cmd file the first time which presents some options. Just hit ‘1′ and ‘Enter’ to copy the cache.db file to get Extended. It also has some other useful options. This rip is all but portable, no registry keys need to be imported, no dlls need to be registered for it to work. A portable launcher is in the works.
Hope can help...

Testing...

Hi

I've tested a few parts

Speed: I didn't notice a huge difference, maybe at first run...

3d Import: Tested with old 3ds files: imported correctly

Twain devices: No scanner or camera detected :(

apparently all the pluggins are there.

So... I will keep it on my portable hard drive in case i needed as emergency resource

Great Tool by the way

This worked for me.

Problem/Symptom:

Adobe’s new CS3 (Photoshop and Illustrator mostly) experiences slow performance and lagging when opening or creating files regardless of size or type.

Solution:

Check your printers. this error is related to the default printer and print service. If you have an offline or unconnected printer, this is most likely your issue. Remove any offline or old/duplicate references to networked printers. If the printer is timing out, you will experience lag in Photoshop and Illustrator even on fast systems.
