Needed Badly!!! Image Format Question!

Hi All,

I have a game called; "Jewel Quest II". It has some very interesting graphics that I want to be able to save out and mess around with for a special project I'm working on.

But, the images are in a strange (I think encripted) format.

I tried using "Game Extractor", but that didn't work either.

I can't simply do a screen-capture as the main backgrounds I need are partially obscurred by all the graphical game elements.

The image files are in three formats: ".jpge" ".gife" and ".pnge"

I also tried simply taking the "e" off and renaming them to .jpg, .gif, and .png.....but, alas, that too failed!!

I REALLY need to get these images badly.

Can anyone help me here at all?

Was told that a program called "IrfanView" could view these....tried that and it didn't work. Also tried to open them in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Illustrator CS2 and that didn't work either.

Really hope one of you can help me with this.

If you want to try fiddling with one of them, you can download one "image" here:

Thanks in advance and hope to hear something very soon!

Hi jbraden37 =)

Yup, the images are encrypted, as the added "e" to the filetype also implies.
They are decrypted by the game at runtime.

That makes them impossible to use elsewhere unless you manage to break the encryption.

Can you use a screen motion capture program such as Camtasia Studio. Launch it and capture screen before launching the game. Then, launch the game and go to the screen you'd like to keep. It will capture all the screens while you move along. Do it slowly since it may skip frames.

Let us know if it works.

Pheraps the developers created its own graphic format...

The only solution i think (already suggested) its print screen .. or use Camtasia Studio

Cheers!
