I thought so long time ago... but there is a little difference between them both... the "open discussion" can be read by everyone, the "shoutbox only by members - this means, watch what you write into the "open discussion" as it can be seen by world. The shoutbox is members only, so there can "internals" be posted that should not be seen by world - as I know this is the only difference between those forums but I think it is significant - to explain this: in the "open" sections there was nothing that was of interest for MAC users... so I created the "open discussions" to have a forum for newbies that need their six posts AND it is for unregistered/not looged in people to see there is the MAC section.

however, then the member forum perhaps be merged with the .apps section ?

ok, let me see... it would be the best to start a dicussion on this in the MAC circle with the mods there... they can decide and they wanted to change some structure there anyways as I remember (besides: you all have a chance to bring yourself in)... so when you have found a structure as you like it I will go and make the changes, ok?

oh btw... I ws thinking on bringin out a similar page as our http://news.gfxelite.com for ouor MAC users... it would show to logged in members new posts of the MAC forums concentrated on one page for instance...

Yeah its good idea maybe.....mac.news something like ...that ..but dr ..do you think this page for news or for something special like appz for mac....??
whatever, sounds good to me to, only i quite like anything not as public as the macfile.org thingy which, to me, is way too public not to attract idiots and envious folks
