you need to have all the materials maps/plug-ins used in the scene in your render slaves as well.

if the problem is this, missing maps, you may need to reset map paths of every material to a UNC name mode. Example: \\machine\D\libraries\maps\......

There is a utility to reset all paths to net public names. In the Utility panel, More, Bitmap Photometric paths. If all the maps in all the materials are set to UNC path, no more any map will be mising.

I've experienced this with FinalRender, and it was a map problem. Maybe the solution above will help you out? I'm not a Vray user, but is there an option to automatically distribute maps as it is rendering? If so, maybe that will help as well.

Good luck with it.

Happy someone talking about DR. One very silly and basic question becos I'm new to DR. Do I need to fire up Vray Spawner in the "render client" computer as well or only in the computers that are "Render server"?

The render spawns I think have to be enabled on all machines involved in the rendering processes.

Another question, if you have two machines, 1 with windows xp 32bit and another with windows 64bit can you use them to render together.....

Hiya Tecttalk... 32bit and 64Bit working well for me. So I don't think that's a problem. As far as I've tried and read I'm quite sure you don't need to fire up the spawner in your host machine where the rendering is being done. Seem to work for me. Others got a view about this. I know it's probably too basic for you seniors out there but you all started just like us so give us some wisdom here. Looking forward to more exciting tips about VRAY!
