so strange... I've no problems with vray or finalrender or backburner.... only with mental ray and I really want to use mental ray a lot more because it's really quite good now with max9.... DAMN!!!!
What is your ip's in both machines? Can you ping each other?
Is Firewall turned off in both machines?
Also if you are using NOD32 Antivirus i know that it blocks in IMON the raysat and it must be excluded. (This info was for a forum). In my case it works with no problem. Maybe an old issue.
Did you turned off the firewall on both machines?
And also do you know if the Avast has a blocking mechanism of monitoring the traffic as NOD32 has the IMON. Just disable it for a moment and make a test.
Hi... it's finally working like a dream. BIG THANKS. REPS added already. It was all because of the firewall!!! I've made exceptions for the port number and it's all working just fine. Saved my life!!! At first I had some problems with RPC butfortunately I managed to fix it. Was to do with some network hitch. Now I can go sleep and start to have fun with mental ray tomorrow!!!
