There's a Modo irc channel, but i haven't visited it in a looong time so i'm not sure how active it is now. Info about where it is can be found on the forum somewhere..

They are difference dipped of the task . If need still image /mean no animation after modeling/ Modo is better , but if you need to animated model after modeling you must to open in modeler /LW/ and check some think there and then start animated. This it for me.

i mean, rendering caustics + high antialiasing + high quality textures in less than 2 min in 6000x6000.... i mean... my lap wont do that
and they just say it's fast
