Modeling muscles

What is the method used to model muscles for a muscular character(for ex superman or hulk) ? I'm working in 3ds max.

Basically what you do is model a lowpoly basemesh, UV map it, export to Zbrush or similar, sculpt your character with muscles and facial details there, export displacement, normal and bumpmaps from your sculpting application, bring it all back into your main 3d application, re-apply, texture, light your scene and render!

I work in Modo and I'm not sure if Max has sculpting tools, but they work very well
if not I would suggest Zbrush or purchasing Modo because the sculpting system is perfect for realistic muscles in a character
