Maya 85 UB on intel mac.... serious performance issues

Hello....
Si I'm trying to cope with the poor performance I get using maya 85 in osX
I have bootcamp installed in parallel and let me tell you, everything from
the marking menus, scrooling, hypershade is faster and fluent.
In the hypershade for example, when I try to pan or zoom, or select smth,
it halts for about a second making it virtually impossible to work in it.

I checked kind and it is Intel so that's not it.
Any other ideas please... ?
What about you, do you have any of these issues?

(Core2duo, 2gbram, ati x1600)

I use the mac version of Maya 8.5 on my intel core duo MacBookPro but I don't have the same problem you describe (been using 8.5 six months approx) but I am not using bootcamp to put windows on, I am using parallels when using the windows side of my MBP, but I am not using windows side for any 3D work.

sorry, I would think your computer being a core 2 duo would rock more. Perhaps delet and re-install? don't know, Sorry.

Hi!

I believe Maya 2008 has solved much of the UB issues. Try that version. Seems to get along better with my MacPro/Nividia machine now

I test the version 2008 a little ..and works great ...for me..

i read some articles and interviews with the autodesk people ...and the mayority of changes with software is all about perfomance
