All I can say is that it's about freakin' time Autodesk did something with Mudbox.

Hi
New version looks great, especially that it seems to handle a lot more poly's which would make painting in it a lot nicer. Good to see texture painting and interactive rendering too. Has anyone out there used it? I know with version 1 I had difficulty on occasions getting the right settings to extract good displacement and/or normal maps from Mudbox1. Even after checking distances etc...Be interested to know what the Mudbox 2009 experience is like in this regard.

MudBox 2 will really give Zbrush a run for the money now.
Being able to sculpt and paint on 25 million polys...wow
