My opinion after first few hours. M-ray is looking Great, mray proxy have more flexibility than vray. BSP2 is great great too. Considering the great shaders in mental ray , I think that will see more and more works that are not rendered with Vray :)

hm, in the tutorial videos you can see that the shadow is displayed in the viewport. In the normal viewport, not ActiveShade or Iterative.

How do you do that? How do you display shadows in the viewport?


EDIT: alright, I found it. Right-click on a viewport and on top of a quad you find a "Viewport Lighting and Shadows" sub-menu.

Hmm, that is new, I don't think in v.9 this was available.



And, after half an hour testing v.2009, I think it has some real improvements.
