Mudbox RIP.

Well thats sort of 'game over' in the war with zbrush isn't it? Autodesk have a history of ruining apps from companies they buy out. Pixologic must be having a party today at Siggy! Whereas they can insert a feature pretty fast, mudbox changes will have to go through major review processes and take an age just to get the go ahead.

Sort of f*ck up Kolby Jukes mudbox DVD thats apparently been 'pending' for almost a year. My bet is he'll do something like a texture painting one....which will be surprising as Kolby doesn't texture...hasn't a clue about displacement maps or anything outside of standard rendering...

...and people think zbrush timetables are bad...wait till you see autodesks!

Agreed. I couldn't believe at the mistake they did with Maya 8.5 installation. Check the "what's new" document in 8.5 sp1a update. How come they messed up with the installation procedure that would actually delete an entire folder if you didn't install your maya 8.5 at their recommended directory? That's a really stupid mistake that I haven't found in any other app (even shareware).. lol

I don't have a good feeling about it. They killed off Motion Builder that way. Apple killed the PC version of Shake along with Chalice and RAYS. Autodesk hasn't done much for Maya, the new stuff was all Alias before the buyout.

Ev en if they integrate it into Maya that screweds the XSI, Max, KW, Modo, C3D users...
