terragen 2 is near

Terragen 2 (TG2) is now the primary development focus of Planetside Software. TG2 is a complete rewrite of Terragen from scratch, and is a significant advance beyond the capabilities of Terragen v0.9. Apart from being a much more powerful renderer, TG2 has a much more flexible architecture which will allow development to proceed at a considerably greater pace.

TG2 Technology Preview will be available for everyone to download, but will require joining a mailing list to gain access to the download. It will be free for personal non-commercial use1. Licenses for commercial use will be available for purchase. More details will be available closer to release.

Man, I went and downloaded that "Technology Preview".

It is COMPLETELY different from any other version of Terragen!!!!

I tried and tried............but could not even begin to figure-out how to use it!!!

If anyone else actually figures out a bit about how to actually use this, could you post some helpful hints and tips or tutorials here?

Thanks.

I feel dumb.

...there is a documentation somewhere around - although not that detailed, but should help for a good start!

Thanks frolicy.

I downloaded and read it. Call me dumb, but it still didn't really enlighten me too much.

I think Terragen folks REALLY went from one extreme to another with this new release. The last one was Very User-Friendly, this one has a Much Harder learning curve.

My opinion only.....like I said, I must be dumb. Even though I used to be the Director of Visual Arts for a Performing Arts Center.
