When Google bought SketchUp they decided to offer SketchUp 6 for free. It's a very easy to use 3D/CAD program that allows quick visualizations.
I use it to design furniture. I can quickly put out a sketch that I can email to a client and get feedback on. It's very simple to modify existing designs.

This is really a very nice application. I have downloaded it and used it in showing to my wife how a new furniture would fit into the home theater. Great!
