guys! i'm looking for a software that can be use for lay outing, by this moment im using InDesign CS2, it's not that hard to handle.. is there any that is more easy to use?...
I do not agree that PageMaker would be a good deal. Doesn't support modern file formats for import and export. I think it confuses beginners more than anything. Microsoft Publisher... well, i won't comment that.
InDesign basics are not that hard to learn and if you invest some time in teaching yourself the basic skills, it was worth the time.
Unforunately there are not that many tutorials on the web, so i suggest looking for a used book on Indesign 2.0 (should be cheap and the basics are similar to cs2) or for some ebook stuff.
ahh.. i check the web page of PAGES and now i see it... it looks not that hard to drive on, is it possible that PAGES can be convert to XP platform, or is it just made just for MACintosh?
Switching from Indesign CS2 is a big no-no! You can't achieve such a professional outcome with any other application - I have used them all. Yes, the learning curve could be hard but it will paying off. Keep on!
Indesign is the best there is for Layout designing. Yes it can be a bit difficult to start with but it really doesn't take too long to learn. I have been using it since version 1.
There are some tutorials on it in the tutorials section, just do a search. And some ebooks too. If you need any help just pm me.
But I have a question for you, is it indesign that is causing the problem or are you have trouble making the layout?
Because if it is not indesign there are several books or small programs on the golden rules that could help.
All the best,
triffid

InDesign and Quark Xpress are the two I have experience with. I find InDesign to the the better of the two, even though it can run a bit slow. I haven't worked with Quark since version 5, so things may be better in the newest version.
If you aren't worried much about the professionalism, Publisher would be a viable solution, but is not a PROFESSIONAL solution. It would be best left to things such as office newsletters and simple final products where it wouldn't really matter much.
