retirement

I retire from being a moderator and member of this forum. My account can be deleted. Grrr, also my highscores in the arcade.:)

I enjoyed my time here very much, and met many friendly and interesting people. Those contacts will continue of course on a private basis through email.

The reason for my retirement is that some members make personal gain and/or money with the material presented here.
Now you might say "what do you expect from a warez forum?", and of course you are right. It was stupid and naive from my part to think that this forum was for altruistic helping each other and file sharing only.:RD

But I believe that what goes around comes around, and as a mod I feel responsible for what people in that forum are doing with the material. Therefore I must quit.
This is my personal opinion and applies to me only. Have a great time.

EDIT: one thing I forgot: if you wish, you can contact me of course. Unfortunately I don't have an email address right now, but I will give the new one to DrNoxx, so just ask him.

hm, I see this kind of late...

and well, let me put something straight here.

the administration of this forum has NO profit at all... neither the moderators. all we do is waste our time here for others to share not only those programs you are talking about. The donations are not much, I could give an detailled report on that within the administration... but I can tell you all that what has come in is was less than we have invested. let me say so: over 60 per cent of the donations are from the administration themselves...

the rapidshare account I had shared until they changed a few months ago always was a share for those that had asked to use it and they had profit 'cause they could download.
The point thing with the rapidshare accounts is simple: if you earn points, you can extend the account and do not have to pay extra to be kind to others and upload files for them - if you do not earn points, you have to pay for uploading and sharing with others. So I used the accont for uploading most of the time... the points have been used to extend the time period of the premium account. I didn't use the account for months often and left the download amount to to others... no, mate don't say I would make this for any profit, here.

sure, when you have an open house... or let me say a community, there is different points of view, people have to find compromises to live together - in real life just as in digital life...

But all of us that we are in the administration are NOT having ANY profit from the existance of this forum. the opposite is the case: it's a quite expensive hobby - AND it will become more expensive as our ISP has told us that we will need an own server in future... the board is too high frequented.
