See... can you see an IP in this forum? NOPE. Normally if it is dynamic IP's the provider gives to you... let me laugh... then she would need exact time and your IP to even have a chance to find you. And still then it will be a struggle to get your location. To find your identity is a second thing then... and a lot of a hazle. Now do this with a few thousand members... Hehe...
Even if you have a static IP it is not easy to find you but easier. Other proxies are easy to bypass and still find your location. Like, see, I can find even your flat and how it looks next to your house in google earth if I get your IP at the moment you are on line with it... If I want to - and to be honest, I am too lazy to stalk after people, especially when they trust me as an admin. But now tell me how this lady will come into the administration and find all the needed data to do so? Got the point? I have adviced the supermods and administrators to use 16 chars passwords with special chars for their accounts
Proxy services like TOR make it absolute impossible to follow the nodes. Only really expereienced admins can follow thenm if they are lucky and the user has the bad luck to be in one of the outer shells of the onion router net. And now - what would be a reason for anyone to even think of tracking the users of a board like us? We are not the ressources that pump out warez, people, we are a small community that likes to share time and talk about their hobby/jobs... this here is NOT a file upload server and it is one of millions of boards that provides links to everywhere in the world.
LOL, people - I do all I can to keep the board and its informations secure... wtf do you think I do with critical data like your IP's? The database of the board is still ONLY in the hands of three administrators of this board and not to be viewed by any outstanding person. Critical functions that would show you an IP address are disabled, even for moderators since -=ehSan=- misused his state as a mod here. Only Supermods and Admins can see your IP address here and only we Admins have your critical data.
To ensure you here: We do not even spy in your PM's or anything like that... I would not install such a hack, even there are such. No - the members are secure. The olny ones she could try to hang her attorney on are the owners of the domains but since everybody that admin c rights can be given to anyone like several offshore hosters do so , too. So this ia a try, only, too... anyone that wants to come to a owner of a domain will have no luck, as the admin c can just say he won't tell the data of the domainuser because this is his service... like swiss banks... that is a usual way to endarken the ways of internet criminality that really sucks: childporn and such stuff.
NO reason at all for all you members here to fear anything. In the hardest case it can be that the board will not be available a few hours until an admin will set the redirectors to the new location...another copy of the board on another server running day and night, wating to be in use...

The law states, a person can only infringe on copyright, patents etc if they " Knowingly " use, distribute , copy said items with intent to defraud, mislead or re-sale for gain. The word is " knowingly " and it must be proved. I upload a file, this is for my own use, then my rapidshare account gets hacked, and the links to all my files is distributed on the internet, now is anyone to blame or who's at fault ?. I fought a five year court case on patent infingement and cost me £190,000.00p in legal fees, I ran out of money, the companys who copied my products won, I the inventer lost. Sorry for going on............................. But hope you get the drift of this.

I have totally agree with your email. I started out downloading software as i was just a kid, how was i mean to come with all the cash to pay for it? I was like 14. But then as i got better i started getting jobs and now i pay for most of the stuff i use, hell i even got a legit version of windows, giveing my bit to Gates. although i still use a pirated version on my system, as there are less problems with installing it (ie no serial, no activation, and un-managed setup) =D
by the way she could theoretically discover teh identity of users through similairties, with sites like DeviantArt. I have noticed that a few people post the same images under the same nickname here and there.
Oh yeah and i'd like to say that everything i sell to the public i also provide for free through emule, as i know it'll get there eventually anyway, and well i hope if you're making money by using my stuff you'll cut me in and buy my product once in a while, and if your not making money than have fun and enjoy it.
and if you get greedy Karma will take care of you anyway =D everything in this world balances which is just great isn't it?
