W.I.P Oriental Scene

well here's the first rough layout of this project i'm doing, i say i'm probably around 30-40% done, just finished the textures and threw in a magic hour type atmosphere....

modeled everything in maya 8.5 , except the landscape, trees, and terrain which was done in Vue 6.6 extreme

How did you make the small engravings on the arch? Displacement map? I don't know Maya, but I work in Max/XSI so I can understand what you are up to. There is still a lot of work needs be done, lighting being the most pivotal of all.

Keep going buddy!

lol there's only 2 lights in that scene that i rendered that you're looking at.... 1 being the sunlight the other being the point light connected to that gold ball thingy in the pagoda... i gave up on that scene, i got too close to crunch time so i just did a DOF blur animation and called it a day and handed it in =P

all textures are all bump mapped in maya, but when you export out all your models to render in vue, you have to invert all the bumps and alpha's because vue reads alphas opposite color of what most packages read =P
