Wow that is nice. I like how you can see and almost could tell the feel of the edges. Very nice

looks cool, especially the glass. the spoon is a bit unrealistic, looks like a mixture of plastic and gold.

The piece that has fallen off is not looking very convincing. Spoon is not photorealistic, but photorealism is not always a part of the agenda. Maybe for your book, you don't need a photoreal spoon. But I would insist rotating the fallen piece a little or working on it a little so that the curvature and thickness are better perceived.
Good effort! :)
One other thing... Since you have shown such fine HDRI reflections on the spoon, maybe it would look good if you put the glass on a real world surface, not just a void gradient.

yes it is... make the impossible possible but so subtile that you have to look twice hehe
now render this with a realistic renderer like say maxwell and you will shock people rofl
