Just a work in progress of a steam locomotive I like, modeling almost finished, no actual texturing.
Modeling in Rhino 4.0 beta, one rendering in 3dsmax 8.0 with Finalrender sp3, the other one rendered in Rhino 3.0 sp5 with VRay for Rhino.
HP xw 9300 workstation double dual core AMD Opteron 270 4gigs ram.
I like it! The model is fine & detailed, smooth edges and a good design.
Put some colors on it, work a little bit around the shaders and It'll be great!
I can't wait to see the finished model.
Hi all, gonna post two advancements of my Steamloco, one test is about smoke I did with Pyrocluster by Cebas, no textures here, the other one I have almost finished modeling and I'm trying some texturing.
I like very much the "Dirt" shader that comes from FinalShaders I used for the Loco body, it combines two shaders and deposit the "Dirt" one in respect of the geometry of the model, but I don't think you'll notice here due to JPEG compression and the unfinished render.
Smoke looks very good. And the colors I like very much. Looks like real metal, the black part. But you need to do something about the golden headlight. Doesn't look right.... And the wheels are a bit to reflective. Make it with some fine dent & bump on it. The rest is perfect. Look at that front of the locomotive! looks so real!

Can I please have the scene when it's ready? I'll upload my AK too, and some more models are to come, including a fully rigged animal character I fully modeled, textured, rigged and even animated. Wanted it to be a char for ut2004, but I still need to do some 100 anims...
