I am not soo excited. I mean, it's every year the same, a new Version with some minor updates/fixes/enhancements is released for the full price.
Max' Core really needs an Update, The Prog is about 11 years old now, released at a time when they were still using NT 3.5.
Maya is somewhat newer, but it's actually just Power Animator updated.

big companies like autodesk always selling their major updates/fixes/enhancements as a new release.

There will be no wait for a plug-ins update, most of them if not all of them works without problem in 2008 (SDK was changed a bit, but not enough to require a recompilation) There might be some glitches but so far it's all ok

er..maya 2008 is this same as maya 8.5 ?

(...sorry, I get lost on that Aut0desk web site , i went there first and ended up getting 8.5 thinking it was the latest/same as 2008)
