those images from the official maxwell site convinced me to download and try it...but I am a bit confused about the UI. I hope that some day I will be able to render in it like the KEETOY user or company from maxwell's gallery.
actually, Maxwell is rather easy, but of course there are some new things to learn. I am very glad that with the max plugin you can use Maxwell directly from 3dsmax, because certain meshes behave different when loaded in MXST. When you render from 3dsmax, and when you have set all necessary texture paths, there are almost no problems.
Be aware that there is another beast waiting around the corner, called fryrender.
Imho much better than maxwell.
I'm really eagering for this one to come out.
For some infos
I haven't tried it in Max yet but it "cut a fool" when I tried to use the version for sketch up pro. It wouldn't export after four tries so I closed everything down, reopened and on the third try for that round it finally exported to Maxwell then it gave out all kind lost some faces most of the materials. Anything that looks that good on the site should have done better than this, even in a Z version. But I will try it on Max sometime in the next few hours; I hope I have the time soon. Hectic around here.
