Hello all.
I'm having problem playing quicktime movies lately. When I play gnomon tutorials, only the intro movie plays correctly. The other parts play with color shift (like you bump up the gamma real high that the screen lose contrast and washed out).
At first I thought it was because of the codec (from QT's movie info it says Sorenson Video 3 codec). So I searched this forum and found recommendation on using VLC instead of QT player. When I play using VLC, those gnomon .movs play fine (no color shift).
Then I tried to play AsileFX VUE6 Advanced Ecosystem Tutorial. For some reason, VLC doesn't play the sound (I was trying to play the narrated ones), but the sound comes out fine using QT player (color shifted as well). When I checked the codec, it uses Apple Losless codec. So I'm thinking this is probably not the codec problem at all.
Anybody ever experienced this with nVidia chipset? I'm using Asus GeForce 6600 Silencer with recent driver (93.71). The problem first appeared when I was upgrading to driver v.91.xx, and found it out when trying to access Java-enabled website and Java application. It didn't exist on driver v.84.21.
For additional info, my monitor is calibrated using QuickGamma, and Adobe Gamma is turned off.
I calibrated it using guidelines from
Code:

When I used adobe gamma, I couldn't calibrated it to Gamma 2.2 as shown on that website, that's why I'm using QuickGamma and the color management works better for my workflow.
So any idea as to what the cause of this color-shift problem when playing movie and the solution? (Aside from converting AsileFX movs so that VLC can play the sound

)
