Thumbs up Image sharpening

What is your favorite photography sharpening method ?
I am very partial to the high pass method, gives me total control, zero artifacts and I can easily mask areas I do not want sharpened.
Here is how I do:

1- duplicate layer
2- desaturate (image/adjustment/desaturate)
3- High Pass filter (filters/other/high pass) usualy around 1%
4- If image needs it I will not apply some image de-noising with Neat Image for smoother result
5- Set this layer blending mode (overlay usualy good, or choose other that works better like linear light)
6- Play with layer opacity % option for more or less sharpening

This take a bit more time, but the results are, for me, unbeatable!

So, what is your method ?

High Pass is special good for noise images.

But with Smart Sharpen we can have more control.
The secret is apply a bit more strong sharpen value and then
fade(SHIFT+CTRL+F) in luminosity mode!

Some toughts

If the image is noisy you may go this way or the High Pass way...
